Acupuncturists trained in Quebec hold a diploma of collegial studies in acupuncture issued by Collège Rosemont. To practice as an acupuncturist in Quebec, you must be a member of the Ordre des Acupuncteurs du Québec.

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is one of the disciplines of Traditional Medicine
. In Quebec, the Loi sur l’acupuncture defines it as “a
traditional oriental method whose aim is to improve health or
relieve pain”.

What does acupuncture treat?

Acupuncture treats the patient … by supporting or stimulating the living organism itself, inviting it, pushing it, slowing it down, helping it to adapt and regain its balance, enabling it, as far as possible, to repair itself.

Acupuncture treatment involves implanting and manipulating fine needles in specific areas of the skin, mucous membranes or subcutaneous tissues of the human body, known as acupuncture points.
