However, some insurance plans may require a doctor&#8217;s prescription before accepting claims. Contact your insurer in advance to find out which services are covered and the terms and conditions required for reimbursement of treatment under your insurance contract.  <\/div>\n    <\/li>\n        <li>\n      <a class=\"uk-accordion-title uk-text-bold\" href=\"#\">Can I consult a physiotherapist without a medical referral?<\/a>\n      <div class=\"uk-accordion-content\">Since the early 90s, the public has been able to consult a physiotherapist in private practice without a medical referral. If you have been referred by your family doctor or another physician, our physiotherapists work in collaboration with them. <\/div>\n    <\/li>\n        <li>\n      <a class=\"uk-accordion-title uk-text-bold\" href=\"#\">Can I consult at a clinic of my choice near my home?<\/a>\n      <div class=\"uk-accordion-content\">Has your doctor referred you to a physiotherapy clinic far from your home? Don&#8217;t want to waste your time with unnecessary transportation? If it says physio or physiotherapy, we&#8217;ll accept your prescription no matter where.  <\/div>\n    <\/li>\n        <li>\n      <a class=\"uk-accordion-title uk-text-bold\" href=\"#\">Should I seek physiotherapy or osteopathy?<\/a>\n      <div class=\"uk-accordion-content\">Physiotherapists and osteopaths have received approximately 5 years of advanced university-level training to treat your various musculoskeletal problems. You can therefore consult the professional of your choice. <\/div>\n    <\/li>\n        <li>\n      <a class=\"uk-accordion-title uk-text-bold\" href=\"#\">How should I dress for a physiotherapy session?<\/a>\n      <div class=\"uk-accordion-content\">Clothing: It&#8217;s best to wear loose, stretchy clothing, opt for shorts, leggings or sports pants and t-shirts.  \r\n\r\nFootwear: Wear comfortable shoes that allow you to perform specific exercises.\r\n<\/div>\n    <\/li>\n        <li>\n      <a class=\"uk-accordion-title uk-text-bold\" href=\"#\">How does a physiotherapy session work?<\/a>\n      <div class=\"uk-accordion-content\">The first physiotherapy session consists of an assessment. The physiotherapist or physiotherapy technologist will evaluate your current state of health and review your medical history. He or she will then draw up a treatment plan tailored to your problems and condition, with the aim of improving your condition. \r\n<\/div>\n    <\/li>\n        <li>\n      <a class=\"uk-accordion-title uk-text-bold\" href=\"#\">What documents should I bring to my first appointment?<\/a>\n      <div class=\"uk-accordion-content\">We recommend that you bring any relevant reference documents:\r\n&#8211; Medical prescription\r\n&#8211; Examination results\r\n&#8211; Previous exercise programs\r\n\r\nIf you have suffered a work accident (CNESST) : \r\n&#8211; Worker&#8217;s claim form\r\n&#8211; Medical prescription indicating doctor&#8217;s diagnosis and physiotherapy referral.\r\n\r\nIf you have suffered a road accident (SAAQ): \r\n&#8211; Your claim number\r\n&#8211; Doctor&#8217;s prescription.\r\n<\/div>\n    <\/li>\n        <li>\n      <a class=\"uk-accordion-title uk-text-bold\" href=\"#\">How many sessions will it take to relieve me and\/or solve my problem?<\/a>\n      <div class=\"uk-accordion-content\">Every individual is different, and so is every injury. The number of sessions varies according to each case.
